Summit is a small congregation of around 80 members, 25 of whom attend the Sunday service. While many members are older, there are some young families. People wear what's comfortable for them. There is plenty of parking and the main entrance is the one with the canopy (where you may drop people off in bad weather or if they need assistance). Someone will greet you at the door. The worship space is to the right, and the restrooms are to the left. Visitors are always welcomed warmly. You are invited to contact us if you'd like more information before attending for a first time. Email the church with any questions or comments. E-Mail: click here to send us a message |

by: Margaret Walser As I awoke, sun rays filtered through and between the dirt splotched on the bedroom window, creating an abstract design on the back of my favorite second-hand chair. I entered the bathroom and found pok-a-dot designs on the walls and floor tile again, created by sun and dirty window. My Windex bottle and I spend an hour together. The solution and dirt met and dissolved into a murky substance on my paper towel. I was awed by the transformation of my surroundings. A remaining undried corner of the window acted as a prism and rainbow colors danced off the pane to find delight in the eyes of the towel holder. The rooms took on a fresh appearance. My mind reflected briefly on my life and I thought my troubles and anger are as dirt splotches and God is my Windex. Turning my cares completely over to God, He became the Windex (the solution) of my dirty windows. I viewed the soiled stained towel and smiled as I disposed of it. The windows were sparkling and bright, defying any dirt to find home on their surface. We need only to ask God to be our Windex. Our smiles of relief can act as our armor to ward off recurring cares, confident in the fact that as they surely will return, we need only to reach for our Windex God to dissolve them again. Just because we are freely offered the gift of forgiveness and redemption, it does not mean that we accept that gift for whatever reason. Most often it because we feel undeserving of that gift. but isn't that what grace is all about. When we don't accept that gift of grace, so freely offered, we continued to let ourselves be weighed down and burdened by our past actions or lack there of. Embracing that grace is key to experiencing redemption and renewed life. I pray you & I will open ourselves up to embracing the forgiveness, redemption and rising up into renewed life that comes with it. So, let us smile as we toss the soil stained towels of our lives and allow the light of God to shine through our lives. May we never be afraid to ask God to be the Windex of our soil stained souls allowing the light of God to shine brightly, both in and through our lives |
